FAQ

How old do I have to be to start therapy?

In Colorado, you have to be 15 years of age or older to start therapy without parental consent. This makes starting the process of therapy quick and easy. In some cases, people are allowed to consent for themselves starting at age 12. If you’re under 15, talking with a parent or guardian is a great first step before starting therapy.

How does online therapy work?

Everything is virtual! We’ll do an initial consultation either on the phone or online and then set up weekly appointments on Zoom. You’ll receive all the intake paperwork in a secure, online platform which will also process your payments. You’ll get appointment reminders and have access to all your billing info online.

Do you accept insurance?

We are out of network providers, which means we do not bill your insurance company directly but will provide a receipt for the sessions you paid for. You can submit this to your insurance provider for any out of network benefits you may have and they will issue a reimbursement check. We recommend contacting your insurance company before beginning therapy to find out what your out of network benefits are.

How do I know therapy is working?

Therapy is work and there’s no easy, fix-all solution. We’ll work together to make a plan that ensures you’re getting exactly what you want out of therapy. This is your time. You can also ask yourself these questions: Am I experiencing more joy? Do I have fewer conflicts? Am I able to make decisions with greater confidence and ease?

Will I have homework after sessions?

That’s completely up to you! Some people thrive on accountability and targeted interventions -- if that sounds like you, great! Homework is never a requirement, nor is it something we’ll push on you if it’s not your style. Regardless, we’ll work on building up coping skills in session together, which you can practice as much as you like at home.

How much do sessions cost?

Session rates depend on clinican and vary from $165-$220.

How long do I need to be in therapy?

At first, we’ll meet weekly for at least 6 weeks. After that, it’s up to you! Most people see positive results if they commit to weekly therapy for at least 3 months. Just like going to the gym, working on your mental health should be part of your overall self-care. There’s no limit on being the best version of yourself.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to reschedule or cancel, please do so at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment, or you’ll be charged the full fee for the session. We know that life can throw unexpected things your way, so exceptions to this policy are welcomed on a case-by-case basis.
