Eliot Hagerty, LPC

I believe trauma-informed care should be the norm, not the exception.

My relationship with alcohol has been an ever-evolving, ongoing journey. In my late teens and early 20s, I struggled with an overconsumption of alcohol that was normalized by my peers and the larger community. I convinced myself that drinking was my outlet and my access to connection, though it only fueled a cycle of disconnection between myself and my community.

Eventually, my behavior got to a point where I felt I had no choice but to stop drinking. Luckily, I found a mindful sobriety community online and started my own therapeutic work. I soon realized that my drinking was a band-aid solution to navigating the stressful events of my 20s - major changes in my family system and the lack of support as I transitioned out of college life.

Through my time engaged with my sober community, I came to build a greater trust in myself and learned real coping skills to be with myself and question my relationship with substances.

I now have an embodied, mindful relationship with alcohol. One that involves deep trust and self-compassion and is connected to my present experience, values, and goals. I trust myself to create boundaries that help me thrive and know what’s needed to support myself in times of need.

I built a life for myself that feels good, so I’m not drinking as a reflex response to environments that make me feel uncomfortable.

And I love helping people get there today.

Together, we can build a life that supports your true self, rather than depletes it. We’ll build up a greater sense of trust and self-knowledge so you feel confident to navigate your own relationship with alcohol, on your own terms.
