How to Add Simple Practice Calendar to Your Website

In this blog post, we’re going to show you how the step-by-step process to add your Simple Practice scheduling page directly onto your Squarespace website.
This function allows potential clients to schedule their initial consultation calls through Simple Practice, rather than you having to spend your time and energy coordinating a time.

Step 01: Allow online scheduling on Simple Practice

Simple Practice has a great step-by-step tutorial on how to enable online scheduling. This is how you get clients to schedule consult calls and therapy sessions directly on Simple Practice.
Step 02: Grab your Client Portal Link
If you are wondering how to add a Simple Practice widget to your Squarespace site, Google no more! For some reason, Simple Practice has step-by-step instructions to add the calendar widget to your site.
According to Simple Practice, “the Appointment-request Widget is a tool you can use to connect your online appointment requests to an external website. The Appointment-request Widget is intended for new clients, and many websites allow the embedding of widgets from other sites.”
Ignore! Ignore! Ignore!
All you have to do is link to your client portal in the CTA’s on your site.
CTA’s—or calls to action—are the buttons that prompt your readers to take action. Websites should have one primary CTA (the big leap: usually schedule a consult call) and a handful of transitional CTA’s (Download the Ebook, Learn More, etc.).
Make sure your CTA’s are clear and concise. For example, some great CTA’s are “BOOK YOUR CONSULT CALL TODAY” or “SCHEDULE A CHAT.” Not so great CTA’s are “HEAD HERE” or “LOL.” Anything that may confuse a user is not a good CTA.

Step 03: Add the client portal link to your CTA’s
We recommend having multiple calls to action throughout your site. Some can link to your email, some should link to different pages of your site, and others directly to your scheduling page.
For the CTAs that go to your scheduling page, write something like “schedule a consult today,” “start the healing now,” or “schedule a free consult.”
This button will then link to your calendar page on Simple Practice.

That’s it! It’s really quite a simple process and is a great tool to help manage your schedule and set your private practice up for success.
For a therapy private practice, we recommend sticking with Simple Practice since it’s HIPAA-compliant for online scheduling. If you run a coaching business or anything that doesn’t require HIPAA platforms, Calendly is your best bet for online scheduling. Squarespace partners with Acuity as another option for scheduling, but in our opinion their platform isn’t as user-friendly or intuitive as Calendly (sorry, had to say it!).
